Onboard video × car data

Every lap. Every number. On screen.

Lap Overlay puts your car's data on top of your track-day footage: speed, lap times, G-forces, pedals and the track map. Tesla Track Mode recordings are imported and synced automatically.

How it works

From the car to YouTube in three steps

01 · Import

Open your session

Point the app at your recordings. Tesla Track Mode videos and telemetry from the USB drive are paired and synced for you. Data from other lap timers and loggers can be imported too.

02 · Style

Pick a layout

Race, Engineering or Vertical 9:16. Move, resize or hide any panel, then play the lap back with the data on screen.

03 · Export

Share the lap

Export one lap, a part or the whole session, landscape or 9:16 for Shorts and Reels, with an opening title and an end card with your lap stats.

Only what your car really recorded

Panels for data a session doesn't have stay hidden. Sessions without lap timing still work.

Tesla Track Mode

Plug in the USB drive. That's it.

  • Finds every video and its telemetry file in the folder and pairs them
  • Syncs them using the data the car embeds in each video frame, with no manual offset
  • Detects laps and shows the gap to your best lap
  • A sync check flags the rare session that needs a small nudge
Other lap timers and loggers

Bring your own data

Questions

FAQ

Which cars and loggers does it work with?

Tesla Track Mode recordings are imported and synced automatically. Data from lap timer apps and loggers can be imported too: RaceRender and TrackAddict CSV, RaceChrono CSV, VBOX and GPX. Add a video from any camera, a Tesla Track Mode video (lined up automatically from the car's speed), or no video at all.

Is this the app that used to be called Track Studio?

Yes. Track Studio is now Lap Overlay. Licences, updates and your projects carry over, and the app shows the new name from its next update.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once and the licence never expires.

How many devices can I use?

Up to 3 at a time, for example a desktop, a laptop and, when the mobile app arrives, a phone. To move the licence to another device, deactivate it in Help › License first.

Does it need the internet?

Only to activate the licence and to check it now and then. It keeps working offline for up to 30 days.

What does the free export include?

One lap, a part or the whole session at 720p, with the opening title, the end card and a small Lap Overlay mark. A licence adds 1080p, the original resolution and 9:16, without the mark.

What if a session has no lap times?

It still works: you get the video with speed, G-forces, pedals and the map.

What about Mac, iPhone and Android?

The Mac version is available now for Apple silicon Macs. iPhone, iPad and Android are coming soon. Your licence works on all of them, within the 3 devices.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, within 14 days of purchase. See the refund policy.
